Description of Significance THE WALTER J. AND FRANCES W. EDWARDS HOUSE IS A ONE AND ONE-HALF STORY BRICK TUDOR REVIVAL STYLE COTTAGE. WALTER AND FRANCES EDWARDS WERE ENTREPRENEURS IN THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY, RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SEVERAL AFRICAN AMERICAN SUBDIVISIONS IN OKLAHOMA CITY. THIS RESIDENCE IN HASSMAN HEIGHTS WAS ONE OF THE EARLIEST HOMES BUILT IN THE FIRST HOUSING DEVELOPMENT ESTABLISHED BY THE EDWARDSS. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 9/8/1994.
